This payment system is provided by the Kildare & Leighlin Diocese [The Diocese] and its third-party suppliers.
The Diocese may update these terms from time to time and any changes will be effective immediately on being set out here. Please ensure you are aware of the current terms.
Terms and Conditions Â
Please read these terms carefully before using the online payment facility. Using the online payment facility on this website indicates that you accept these terms. If you do not accept these terms do not use this facility.
All payments are subject to the following conditions:Â
We cannot accept liability for a payment not reaching the correct account due to you quoting an incorrect card number or incorrect personal details.
Neither can we accept liability if payment is refused or declined by the credit/debit card supplier for any reason.
Security
All payment details which are entered through this payment gateway are encrypted when the customer, or third-party making payment, enters them. Communications to and from the service provider's site are encrypted.
The DIOCESE shall not be liable for any failure by the customer or third-party making payment of fees to properly protect data from being seen on their screen by other persons or otherwise obtained by such persons, during the online payment process or in respect of any omission to provide accurate information in the course of the online payment process.
All cardholder information is protected and will never be passed onto any third parties
The Diocese shall not be liable for any unforeseeable losses incurred by the customer that arise from the customer’s actions.
Refund Policy
Refund of payments made will be at the discretion of the DIOCESE. Disputes regarding amounts paid must be made in writing to the DIOCESE.
Refunds, if applicable, will only be made to the debit/credit card used for the original transaction.

Recurring payments can be cancelled at any time, online or by contacting the DIOCESE
Privacy
Personal data is data that identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you and may include, for example, your name, address, mobile number, or email address.
When you donate to the Diocese and/or any of its parishes, you will provide the Diocese with the following personal data:
- Your name, address and email address;
- The amount you donate;
- Your payment card details, including, cardholder name, card number, card expiry date and CCV number;
- Your Eircode (optional);
- Your phone number (optional).
This personal data that you volunteer to us will be processed for the following purposes:
- To facilitate payments from you
- So that we can contact you in connection with your donation;
- To administer the Charitable Donations Scheme.
If your donation is being made via www.kandle.ie for a particular parish, the Diocese will forward your personal data to the relevant parish so that the donation may be processed by the parish and so that it may benefit the parish.
In order for your payment to be processed, your personal details will be sent to a company called, Stripe. Stripe is an international on-line payment processing company and your data may be transferred outside the EEA by this company. Please see Stripe’s Privacy Policy for further information www.stripe.com/ie/privacy. The Diocese will receive confirmation from Stripe that your payment has been processed. This confirmation will contain your name, address and donation amount. This assists us in the administration of the donations.
You have the right to request a copy of any personal data held by us about you. You also have the right to have such data corrected where it is inaccurate or misleading. You may also have the right to have this data deleted.
The information you provide in connection with your donation will be retained by the Diocese and/or appropriate parish for [7] years to comply with financial and taxation requirements.
If you donate more than €250 in any one year to the Diocese or to a parish, we may contact you in relation to the Charitable Donation Scheme.

Collection and use of Non-Personal Data
Like most websites, we gather statistical and analytical information collected on an aggregate basis of all visitors to our website. This non-personal data comprises information that cannot be used to identify or contact you.
