Carlow Cathedral seek to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Organist with appropriate qualifications as an integral member of the Music Ministry and play a significant role in the life of the Cathedral community.
The Organ at the Cathedral is an exceptional instrument, an 1880 William Hill renovated in 2010. Two consoles, one on the gallery with three manuals and one in situ with the choir downstairs, two manuals. The consoles can be played individually or together. The candidate should have good knowledge of organ and choral literature and play at an advanced level. Â Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Director of Music to rehearse with and accompany the Cathedral Choir, cantors and instrumentalist at regular services and special occasions.
