Over the last few years the diocese has collaborated with TrĂ³caire to offer an opportunity to students and teachers to explore Climate Justice. The response to the workshop was very positive and both teachers and students enjoyed the session immensely.
This year we have decided to offer the workshop in three centres in the diocese.
Solas BhrĂde, Kildare                                                Tuesday, February 28
Cathedral Parish Centre, Carlow                           Tuesday, March 7
Mt St Anne’s Retreat Centre                                    Tuesday, March 14
The sessions will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00p.m.
Schools are invited to send 3 – 5 students from 5th or 6th class, and 1 teacher to the session. A maximum number of 30 students will be accommodated on each day.
2 education officers from TrĂ³caire will facilitate workshops exploring the theme of climate justice through active learning methodologies. There is no charge for the day. Students and teachers are asked to bring packed lunches. Tea and coffee will be provided for the staff members attending. If your school is interested in availing of the workshop in one of these venues please contact Maeve Mahon as soon as possible with numbers and the name and email address of the teacher who will be accompanying the children.
The following gives an outline of the content of the workshop:

TrĂ³caire would like your students and teachers to return to their schools and share their learning with other students and staff in the school and take action against climate change. TrĂ³caire will contact the teachers again in a few weeks/months to offer additional support and to learn what actions the schools have taken.
