Commissioning of Boards of Management and Presentation of Candles 21 January 2024
On 1 December 2023 Bishop Denis appointed the Boards of Management to our 162 Catholic Primary Schools, for a new four-year term, 2023-2027. 1134 volunteers who, with our principals, work together to lead, support and guide our school communities. It is fitting that board members are acknowledged and commissioned for their work during the celebration of Mass at the beginning of Catholic Schools Week 2024. The Board of Management is a community of service within the Catholic school and its members are deeply appreciated and are an invaluable witness to the value that we place on the mission of Catholic education in our diocese. Each Board of Management will also be presented with a candle that will be lit at the beginning of each meeting of the Board of Management reminding them of the importance of spending time in prayer before all their deliberations. A Prayer Resource for use at Mass can be downloaded here. The Candle Wrapper can be downloaded for printing here.
